Drama by Design have worked on a wide range of PFI and Building Schools for the Future projects in Education involving technical facilities for drama and performing arts.
Our level of involvement varies considerably, but can include:
- Provision of initial design concept and specification for inclusion with your tender
- Review of your budget and proposal
- Complete design and specification of equipment to suit the available budget, including details of weight and power loading
- Pre-qualification of suitable companies to tender for the work
- Assistance with preparation of tender documents
- Review of tender bids
- Site visits to ensure work is carried out to a satisfactory standard
- Commissioning and training of installed systems
It has been proven in the past that Drama by Design can save you money on your PFI/BSF projects as we will ensure that the systems we specify are fit for purpose without being excessive, tender bids are competitive, building structure is adequate at the design stage (not requiring expensive modification at a later date) and the work is carried out to a satisfactory standard.
The conventional method of sourcing the stage lighting, sound and audio visual systems for this type of project is to simply go to a contractor, but this doesn't produce the most cost effective end result. Working with a contractor to finalise the specification will ultimately end up with a project that is over-specified and over-budget. Drama by Design will ensure that any project is fit for purpose and cost effective.
