The studio lighting features a Doughty Studio rail system with fixed rails running the length of the studio carefully co-ordinated with suspended ceiling panels and general lighting. Low level outlets are also provided for floor lighting. Kino Flo and Dedolight LED studio lights are suspended underneath the rails on wheeled carriages.  Control is wireless from an iPad running the Synthe FX lighting control app.

Wall mounted facility panels are provided around the studio and on the ceiling for connecting microphones, cameras and monitors, wired back to patch panels.

Two Panasonic AG-DVX200 4K fixed lens camcorders on tripod stands are provided for the recording, with the facility to connect additional cameras to the facility panels.

A combination of Audix M55 hanging microphones for audience pick-up and Sennheiser DW-3 radio microphones for presenter pick-up provide the audio feed.

There is no dedicated recording system so the audio signals from the microphones are routed through to a Yamaha MTX3 digital signal processor. This is controlled via an Apple iPad in the studio with the output routed back to the facility panels for connection to the cameras. Thus material can be recorded on SD cards in the cameras with all cameras receiving the same audio feed.

A wall mounted large format display screen in the studio can receive the output from any of the cameras to provide live feedback of what it being recorded. The screen can also be used for playing promotional feeds or previously recorded material.

The system has been designed so it can be easily upgraded in the future for live feeds and/or set-up of a separate gallery and edit suite.

Drama by Design also provided acoustic consultancy to include review of internal sound insulation between rooms and between floors, control of services noise, control of reverberation and external noise emissions.
